ArmChurch
Created by Esterox, the ArmChurch project aims to connect Armenian Apostolic Christian believers, priests, and churches on a single platform. The mobile application provides followers all the information they need to know about the Armenian Apostolic Saint Church and keep them up to date on events and liturgies. The platform includes the Bible of different translations with annotations of every verse. The platform makes it easier to create a digital community around the church, letting users communicate with the clergy, schedule a date for a ritual, and more.
Challenge
The challenge was to centralize all the digital aspects of the church under one platform. If the users needed to find information about a church, holidays, contact priests, get notifications about latest events , or read and explore the Bible, they needed to use multiple apps. Another challenge was to create a digital community around the church on the platform.
Solution
We created a user-friendly mobile application that included key features such as the ability to search for churches, get contact information of priests and churches, and offer feedback through a suggestions page. The platform facilitates the communication between the users and priests through the messaging system we implemented, creating the intended virtual community of the Armenian Apostolic Saint Church. The users can also follow church or priest pages where they can find and share posts. To help locate churches in one’s area, we developed a compiled map, where users can find all the necessary information about the church such as the address, contact information of the priests and the church, upcoming holidays, news, related media, history of the church, and more. We developed a notification system to remind the users of current holidays from the built-in calendar. Additionally, the system delivers daily notifications about readings, commandments, gospels, prayers of the day and so on. A dedicated section was also added for reading the Bible in different translations, exploring annotations of different verses, or listening as an audiobook.

The connection between the parish priest and the believer should always be alive and one of the goals of this application is to make the church and the priest even more accessible to the believers.
